About Me

Hi, I’m Casey!

Welcome to my corner of the internet—a place where I share personal writing, professional work, and the occasional strong opinion, all in the hope of adding more to the world than I take away.

Backstory, But Make It Useful

I write because I can’t not write. I’ve tried. But even when I wasn’t “a writer,” I was—scribbling in notebooks, stuffing thoughts into note-taking apps, drafting screenplays I may or may not finish (“I can’t go on, I must go on”), and chasing the truth the way some people chase adrenaline.

Professionally speaking, I cut my teeth in the arts. I first trained as a dancer, then went on to earn my B.F.A. in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. I danced ballet en pointe, did improv comedy with the Groundlings, and performed in both theaters and film on both coasts. Then, like any artist determined to keep the lights on, I got a day job.

But something funny happened on the way to the branded Slack channel: I built a career.

It started with a pair of sneakers and a wireless mic. I began teaching group fitness classes—Broadway dance, aerial yoga, restorative yoga, Pilates,—using every ounce of my movement training to lead classes that were part athletics, part performance, part personal growth seminar.

Meanwhile, I picked up freelance writing gigs—blogging about music, reviewing concerts, writing screen coverage for a Hollywood studio, ghostwriting eBooks, and editing everything from executive bios to crowdfunding campaigns.

I said yes. I stayed curious. I used my wits.

Before long, I wasn’t just freelancing, I was shaping strategy, managing content, and building communication systems from the ground up.

It turns out, not knowing exactly what you’re “supposed” to be can be a kind of freedom.

I didn’t become a writer. I just kept writing. I didn’t set out to be a strategist. I just started asking better questions.

I used to brace for change. Now, I make space for it. Turns out, surrender to change isn’t weakness—it’s momentum.

Plot Twist: I Got Good at This

I currently serve as Communications and Content Director for a health and wellness company, after years leading content, marketing, and comms across industries including science, fitness, health, entertainment, digital retail, and nonprofits.

Translation: I help brilliant people say what they mean, and mean what they say.
